From Pirates of the Carribean to Elizabeth Taylor, The Cellar has quite the past.
The Cellar Restaurant is located in the Historic Villa del Sol. The Spanish style building was once called the 'California Hotel', hosting Celebrities from all over the world. With the Fox Theatre being across the street, it held many red carpet events from the 30's to the 80's. In 1969 The Cellar Restaurant opened its doors. The Cellar was designed by Gene White, the craftsman from the 'Pirates of the Carribean' at Disneyland. With cavernous walls, red velvet booths, and fascinating details it proves The Cellar is truly one of a kind. John Wayne frequented The Cellar, as did Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton who were engaged in one of our Grotto Booths which can be requested.
We invite you to join us. Walk downstairs, open the wood door, and be instantly transported to another era. With 20's music playing, candle light, and warm laughter filling the air, The Cellar is an experience one will not soon forget.
